We all know the struggle to keep a neat house with a toddler running around. If you're like me, it's more than just wanting a clean house. My mental health suffers when our house is a mess. Here are five products I use almost every day that make it so much easier to stay ahead of toddler messes.
1. Grosmimi Spill-Proof Sippy I tried so many different cups before I found one that would not leak all over our house. This is that one. This cup is truly spill-proof. You can order replacement straws, which will be necessary if your kid bites straws like mine does. It is great to be able to replace just the straw and not the whole cup. The stainless steel option is unavailable right now, but hopefully, supply chain issues sort out soon.
2. Folex Spot Remover I'm telling you, this stuff is magic. Crayon on the couch? Solved. Grape juice on the rug? Solved. I bought it in a three-pack because we use it so often. It has removed stains that I thought for sure were permanent. I use it every couple of months to do an all-over couch clean and it does wonders for keeping the couch looking fresh.
3. Magnetic Cabinet Locks When I was a brand new mom I said to myself, "You don't need cabinet locks. Just teach your kid which cabinets are safe to open and which aren't." Lol. That was cute first-time mom talk. It does not work in real life. You need cabinet locks. This is my favorite brand because of the price and how well they work. I keep the keys high up and without access Romi has not yet figured out how they work. It comes with two magnetic holders for the keys that you can stick anywhere in your house. I have one on the door frame in the bedroom and one on the refrigerator.
4. Bissell Spin Wave Mop Our regular Swiffer mop could not keep up with the sticky toddler messes. I was getting increasingly frustrated with the residue on the floor until we got this mop. Its powerful and scrubs as it mops. I still use the Swiffer for everyday messes, but then I pull out this mop once a week for a deep clean. It truly makes the floors shine.
5. Cordless Vacuum This is a new tool in our house. I’ve had a Roomba for several years and it is great for vacuuming without thinking. Every house should have one. But when it
comes to toddlers, the Roomba isn’t quite enough. I was frustrated with how ratty our rug looked and was thinking it might be time for a new one. Then I learned about this vacuum. Forget the higher-priced vacuums! This one is fantastic. It has three power modes and the high power mode pulled all the embedded crumbs out of our rug and restored it like new. Seriously. I breathe a sigh of gratefulness every time I look at the rug.
I hope these help you keep your house a little cleaner and your sanity for a little longer. Remember that there is no shame in having a messy house. We're in the thick of toddlerhood, here. Anything goes.
