Service Description

When people tell me, "I don't know how you do it" I remember those early days of parenting when I stumbled through life not knowing how to make it to the next day. Then, I found my groove. I learned which tasks needed to be simplified, completed in bulk, or skipped altogether. I learned how to ask for the right help at the right time-- and that not all help is equal. I learned how to handle the unexpected challenges that always come with parenting. I learned how to thrive as a single mom. Now I want to help you go into your postpartum fully prepared. You don't need to stumble through like I did. Let me lead the way so that you can create a postpartum plan that truly works for you. Together we will set you and your baby up to thrive from the very beginning. I entered my postpartum period as a single mom by choice with extensive training in postpartum care. I quickly found that many of the useful tips I had taught my clients weren't useful as a single parent. I was so used to doing everything myself-- and thriving-- that I assumed I could tackle postpartum the same way. The truth is that postpartum looks very different as a single parent. Generic postpartum classes don't cover the ins and outs of making life work without a partner. It is easy to go into postpartum thinking we have a plan only to realize our plan was flawed from the beginning-- at least, that's what I did. Designed for single parents but open to all parents, this course includes four two-hour sessions over the course of four weeks. You will also receive a postpartum guide with tips and handouts to use throughout your postpartum period. The sessions will cover: - Postpartum planning - Postpartum recovery - Infant care - Lactation/feeding __________________________ Elizabeth Eirwood is a single mom by choice to two kids, an RN, a postpartum doula, a lactation counselor, and a gentle sleep coach. She and her family live in Saint Paul, MN where they enjoy biking, snowshoeing, and trips to the library. __________________________ *Scholarships are available for BIPOC*
